At Blue Grass Amish Cabins we pride ourselves on delivering a wide variety of quality built, durable, Amish made cabins and cottages. All our cabin designs are constructed using pine and cedar rough sawn, full dimensioned lumber grown and sustainably harvested here in the USA. The framing, siding and trim are constructed of eastern yellow pine, while the porch ceiling, floor boards, posts, and beams are red cedar. Cedar trim is optional.
Cottage kits ship via freight. A tracking number and information about the freight company will be supplied to you at the time of shipping.
You must ship to a location that has the equipment to offload your kit such as a forklift and small truck. Your site must be available to accommodate a full-size truck with a 48′ trailer in order to qualify. You must be present for delivery.
Cottage shed kits are on average 3000 pounds. You must have a forklift on site or your kit cannot be offloaded. You are responsible for arranging to have the proper equipment at your delivery site.
We do our best to work with you & ship your kit at a time when you are ready to build. If you do have to store your kit after delivery, we have some guidelines to keep your kit in good condition.
Kits are banded and wrapped in mesh. Try not to break the bands until you are ready to build your kit. The mesh is safe to leave on until you are ready to build. Kits are packed on a pallet that is not part of the kit. The pallet may be placed on the ground. We highly recommend keeping your kit on the pallet until ready to build.
Do not store your kit in a high-humidity area. Do not put a tarp over your kit as a tarp can trap moisture and cause damage to your kit. Keep doors and windows out of the weather. Don’t allow the battens to sit in the sun or rain.
